   Melbourne International Singers Festival
     Chopin in Song

Our XL Arts artists presented a Polish program to an enthusiastic audience with musical selections, ensembles and songs in recital inspired by the one and only Fryderyk Franciszek Chopin.

The recital day was topped off with our lovely artistic director Liane Keegan giving a very insightful and rather entertaining vocal workshop for the choir goers of the music festival!

    Petite messe solennelle

XL Arts inc. expand its community engagement further into Regional Victoria for the first time in 201 8. The Rossini Mass proved to be a rapturous success as part of the festival performed at Christ Church. We wish to thank the Warrnambool Organ Festival Inaugural Chorus and musicians involved. Special thanks goes to our soloists, Naomi Summers, Louise Keast, Kerrie Bolton, Asher Reichman and Chris Clifford, and our conductor Patrick Burns for making it all come to life. Another big thanks to Louise Keast for all her efforts in organising the festival!

     Rare Sounds V
    Looking Back Looking Forward

2018 was the fifth installment of our Rare Sound series. What a delight it was for musicologist Dr. Joel Crotty to curate yet another astonishing program of re-discovered Australian masterpieces and to have two composers, Christopher Willcock and Martin Greet come support our artists perform their works. Special thanks to Isaac Mouskovias for his beautiful collaboration!

    Joyful! Joyful!

There is no better way to end 2018 with a bang than having joint forces with THECHO!R, Footscary and Yarraville Brass Band and several astounding community based choirs and performers as part of Play it Forward directed by Dr Jonathan Welch AM raising funds in support of Choir of Hard Knocks. Our XL Arts team was thrilled to share the fun with all on stage and dazzle the audience alongside Liane Keegan’s versatile performances of “Habanera”  (Carmen) to “This is Me”  (The Greatest Showman) and “Making Whoopee.”
